A League of Their Own

I've never watched this flick before today. Always wanted to. This flick, probably based on real-life events, took place during WWII. While men were at war, women did everything, including work in factories and also, lo and behold, playing baseball. No one would believe they could do it. I mean, they got laugh at at their very 1st game. But they believe in themselve. That's what's most important, believing in yourselves, not even their damn manager, Jimmy Dugan, played by Tom Hanks, believed in them. But they got real guts putting themselves out like that. Real gumption, I called it. Perservance paid off in the end. They got notice when they were in Life by one of the most popular players, Dotty, a real kickass catcher, but her kid sis, Kid,  was competing against her, so they traded Kid to another team. Kid's team won the World Series against Dotty.

Fast forward to present when the girls were the first ladies to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Kid and Dotty-the long-lost sisters were reunited etc and all the ballplayers reunited after many years apart.

At the end of the movie they show the gang aged. The real ladies. not the actors playing the ladies. They went back to their old hannting grounds to PLAY BALL!
