Who cares if it's Miss USA 60th anniversary?!

They only look what's on the outside, not what's on the inside. Sure they have Q&A at the end, but they're just a buncha airheads that they can't even give a deep, thought-provoking answer.

Some of the ladies in the beauty pageants start strutting their stuff when they are toddlers. (Haven't you seen TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras-Look at the babies on their official site) If you must blame someone, you should blame the parents for putting them in front of the spotlight at such a yong age. The babies don't know what their getting into. Parents should let their kids be kids; they're way too young to be in beauty pageants. Remember what happened to JonBenet Ramsey?!



Hef's Wedding Canceled!

What a loss!

What a terrible, horrible loss!

Oh well, I'll bet a lot of those Playboy Playmates are after his money anyways-goldiggers a bunch of 'em!

Hef's wedding to Crystal Harris has been canceled. She wants a bigger weekly allowance and a career in the music industry. She released a song, Club Queen, on iTunes. Well, I guess she wants more freedom, which is understandable.In next July edition of Playboy that's comin' to the newsstands near ya, a sticker over his former bride 'Runaway Bride In This Issue.' You win some, you lose some.
Now ladies, he's available, he's on the market again. He's officially, a single man again.

I think it's finally time to gossip about Arnold  'the extramarital affair' jerk Shwarzenegger what with the other woman and his love child being revealed.

Compared his supposed love child, do you see any resemblances?  His supposed mistress is beautiful in her own way, but nothing compared to Maria Shriver, his soon-to-be ex-wife.

I don't think Mildred Baena had an affair with Arnold Schwarzegger at all; it just another ploy to drum up publicity. He may be a playboy, but no way, no how could he have fathered another child with another woman! He does have some pride. Give the man some credit. Give him some slack, paps!

S.E. Hinton

S.E. Hinton's novels are so 70s! Her characters are all so tuff. Made me wanna be like 'em. Or better yet, make me wanna write characters like 'em! When I was lil, after reading Outsiders, which I read/watch about 10x (I much prefer the book to the movie, but those up-and-coming actors in that movie are today's stars, unbeknownst to us all) I just recently found out that she wrote Outsiders when she was just 16! Yes, S.E. Hinton is a girl! But I digress... I wanted to act all tuff and stuff like the gangs portrayed in her novels. Now, I wanna write about gangs. Sure, I tried my hand at writing tough girl gangs, but to no avail.I tried this time around but still I haven't succeed cos I guess I don't have a tough bone in my body. Why are all Hinton's characters boys-I mean, she being a girl she should at least have some tough chicks-well, the girlfriends of the main characters doesn't count; they're just supporting characters. I'm talking about main characters, man!
Tex was kinda mushy, no fighting,  just a coupla of kids just struggling to make ends  meet w/o a parent around. .When their dad did showed up, he wasn't a great parent to Tex (turns out their father is not Tex's but his older brother, Mason, which means they're half-brothers. But Tex is in love (or maybe just crushing on?) his best friend's sister (his only sister) They live in the country and go  in the city now and then.
Anyway, all of Hinton's novels were made into movies. Because her novels show how tough life can be even if you least expects it to be. You gotta roll with the punches.

Lord of the Files (63)

This is one violent movie. Words cannot express how violent it is. I can't wrap my head around the violence in this movie.
Here we go: premise of this movie is that two groups' of boys from two different schools plane crashed. They ended up stranded on an island. They thought they saw a beast. They wanted to kill it, but to no avail. They ended up-now here's the horrendous part-killing their own. There's also a fat boy who wore glasses. The other group took his glasses to start a fire. They ended up killing Piggy, the fat boy by pushing a boulder in his direction; poor guy didn't even see it coming cos he didn't have his glases on. And he was washed out to shore. Maybe even drowned? Now only the level-headed guy was left. They were after like banshees... until they came face-to-face w/ their rescuers. Hallejah!
My opinion of the movie: I would say outstanding except it wasn't. Well it started fine when Jack with the help of Piggy use teamwork to keep the boys in line.
Then it kinda sorta fell apart when they went on the hunt for the 'beast.' It went crazy beyond crazy. It was out of control. Simon and Jack and Piggy didn't believe there was a 'beast.' When Ralph took over things got out of whack! Ralph turned all the boys into barbarians. Their actions were barbaric, killing anything that moved like Simon who was taking a look at the 'beast.' I realised that they have to take care of themselves, but it's unbelivable how things turned out. In Piggy's case, Ralph never treated Jack and friends nicely. He slapped Piggy on the face, breaking his glasses; he can only see out of one eye. He called him all sorts of names-not nice names too. Piggy was killed by his tribe. I mean, boys can be boys, but this is reducing themselves to murderous little boys. Sad to say, rescue came way, way too late.
Which boy do I like? Well, Ralph for one, but I didn't like how he always bullied Piggy. Ralph was so bold so courageous.... and so deadly. What I didn't like about Ralph is that he denied killing Simon. Even though he said he didn't kill Simon, he wanted to go on and 'kill the beast.'
But you also can't help but like Jack, who's so level-headed. He knew that there's no such thing as the
'beast.' And there's nothing he can do to stop the mayhem that Ralph has created. Even though he was elected as chief in the beginning, no one would listen to him now with Ralph as the new leader of the 'hunters.' And Ralph hated how Jack always sided with Piggy. Ralph's tribe always hunted for food while Jack was given the food by Ralph's cronies.
Lord of the Files is a totally barbaric story about boys who would stop at nothing to attain their mission, which is to 'kill the beast,' their enemy whether it be the strange thing on the island or Jack.
I highly don't recommend this movie.

Runaways

I'm so mad over the Runaways!

Watchin' their movie starring Kirsten Stewart & Dakota Fanning had something to do with it....
But listening to their music online made me a true fan of the Runaways. I wish I was a fan of 'em back when they were popular, then I could've collected all those mememorbilia/souvenirs of theirs. I wish I was a group, then I could've known them up-close n' personal.

IMHO, they were true teen punk rockers They were the prob'ly the 1st girl punk girl punk group. You go, girls!

Rock n' Roll, girls! Rock Long Rock Hard.

They prob'ly started the grrrl riot! Way to go, girls!

Body Image Obssession

What is it with our culture about body image?! If we don't look a certain way, we get criticize for it.
If we're too fat, we're obsese or overweight. Or if we're too thin, we're considered bulimic or anorexic; EATING DIORDER ALERT!

What w/ Sara Rue losing 50 lbs thru Jenny Craig and Alison Sweeney losing 30 lbs.-and many more celebs losing wt left and right-I know it's healthy and all that but people think it's unhealthy too thin or too fat. What will become of us? Yeah, sure, Sara Rue snagged herself a man as she was losing all those wt and is planning a May wedding and Ali is no longer bingeing on sweets so there's a plus side to it.

But we still think of body image as being the end-all and be-all, so if we let loose or, fall of the wagon so to speak, once in a while it's not like we'll die, slight exaggeration. I guess people lose weight for health reasons. But if they just want to lose wt to impress people, it so ain't alright cos they'll turned bulimic or anorexic. If they're fat, they should maintain their wt to reasonable wt. And if they are already healthy, they should eat fruits and veggies and exercises as often as they can.
